Hooe lies four miles north-west of Bexhill-on-Sea, in the Wealden district and north of the A259 on the B2095. The name meant ‘ridge’ in Saxon, and the village once stood on higher land. The church, St Oswald’s, is both Saxon and Norman. Much of the population is based at Hooe Common, just to the north. Hooe has all the amenities you’d expect of a village its size, including a school.
