Renting your home from Oakfield
There’s nothing our team loves more than helping clients find their perfect home. Whether you’re a first-time renter taking your first step onto the property ladder or a growing family looking to upsize to a larger space, we’re here to support you every step of the way. We take the time to understand your unique needs and preferences, so we can match you with properties that truly feel like home.
Why rent a home with us?

The renting process

Step 1 – Register with us
Our negotiators will carefully discuss your key requirements and preferences to find the perfect home for you. Once we know what you’re looking for, we’ll create custom alerts that notify you of matching properties before they become publicly available.
Step 2 – Attend viewings
Before booking viewings, we recommend doing thorough online research to explore property details, photos, and descriptions. This helps you create a targeted shortlist of homes that match your criteria and budget. By being well-prepared, your viewings become more efficient and focused, increasing your chances of finding the perfect property quickly. Start your property search with confidence and make the most of every viewing opportunity.

Step 3 – Put forward an offer
All applicants are required to complete an application form upon registering with us. This allows us to carry out initial checks and ensure you meet the necessary referencing criteria before being matched to a property. By completing this step early, you’ll be ready to proceed quickly when the right rental becomes available. Honesty is crucial at this stage—please disclose any adverse credit history upfront. We also recommend checking your credit report yourself to be fully prepared.
Step 4 – Being accepted for a property
Once you’ve found your perfect rental property, our dedicated team will act quickly and professionally to work closely with the landlord on your behalf. We’ll present your application, highlight your suitability, and address any questions or concerns to help secure the landlord’s approval. Our goal is to make the approval process smooth and efficient so you can move into your new home as soon as possible.

Step 5 – Referencing
Once you’ve been accepted by the landlord, we’ll begin the referencing process on your behalf. This includes conducting a thorough credit check, verifying your income, and obtaining employment references. Where applicable, we will also seek a reference from your previous landlord to ensure you meet all tenancy requirements.
Step 6 – Moving in
Once the referencing process is fully completed and all checks have been successfully passed, we will confirm a suitable move-in date with you and the landlord. On the day of your move, a member of our dedicated team will meet you at the property to hand over the keys and ensure you settle in smoothly. We aim to make your move-in experience as easy and stress-free as possible, providing support whenever you need it.

Report a repair
At Oakfield, we understand that our tenants have busy schedules, which is why we offer a convenient, 24/7 online property portal for reporting maintenance issues. This system allows you to submit detailed descriptions of any problems, along with photos and videos, so our dedicated property management team can fully understand the situation before arranging repairs. By providing as much information as possible upfront, we can ensure faster response times and smoother resolutions, making your tenancy experience hassle-free and comfortable.

Zero Deposit
Moving home can be costly, making it hard to find your deposit, first month’s rent and the other costs of moving. A Zero Deposit Guarantee costs the equivalent of one week’s rent and replaces the traditional tenancy deposit, aiming to make renting more affordable.
Pay less upfront: Free up cash by paying a fee equivalent to one week’s rent.
More choice: Zero Deposit gives tenants an alternative to the traditional deposit.
Greater freedom when moving: Avoid having to fund a second deposit when moving from one rental property to another.
