Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare in Lewes is one of the six amazing charities we support. They care for over 2,000 animals a year, rehoming over 1,000 animals across East Sussex and providing sanctuary to even more at their 43 Acre site. They also educate pet owners of the future and aim to give young people an understanding and practical advice on how to love and care for animals.
As part of our Community Pledge we donate £50 per sale, paid on completion to the charity as chosen by the Vendor and Raystede are a very popular choice.
However, it is more than just donating money, with our team being invested in getting involved with the charity too.
Today Sam and Izzy from our Eastbourne office spent the morning with the lovely Mikalyea at Raystede site in Lewes. They started the day with a guided tour and have the opportunity to learn more about how the wonderful staff ensure the welfare of their animals through their donations. They finished with a lovely lunch at their cafe and a brief on upcoming events and ways we can help raise money and awareness.
Izzy our Lettings Manager in Eastbourne said “We feel so privileged to have been able to go along and see what goes on at Raystede, it’s such a huge operation and so humbling to see the amount of work that goes in to make it happen. I only wish I could take all of the animals home with me! We spoke about some great events coming up for us to support and in particular we are looking forward to coming back with more of the team for the day to really get stuck in and help out.”
