This week Izzy our Lettings Manager in our Eastbourne branch went along to Holding Space to help out with their Christmas Wrapping Fundraiser. These events are arranged over a number of days are an opportunity for people to bring in Christmas presents and for a donation to the charity, their presents will be gift wrapped, while they take a seat and have a hot drink. They also have a raffle with a fantastic Christmas Hamper to raise money.
Holding Space is a wonderful charity who offer support to families who have children struggling with their mental health. They provide a safe space to encourage families to communicate and for both the children and the parents to know they are not alone.
The charity was started in 2019 by Hansa Raja whose own daughter was struggling with her mental health and found there was very little support for her. So she started a Facebook page for parents in a similar situation with amazing success which then went from strength to strength. The charity hold regular parent coffee mornings, well being classes and also training for parents, in addition to access to a low cost counselling service.
This really is an amazing cause that at Oakfield we are very proud to support.
