I think it is fair to say spring has sprung, as I sit and write this the sun is shining outside and there are clear blue skies, let’s hope that is here to stay. Spring always brings a buzz to the property market and despite the uncertainty surrounding Brexit I believe the property market his proved it is resilient and we will have a busy spring market this year. More on how the market is looking this month can be found in my market report here.

March has been another fantastic and busy month at Oakfield Estate Agents, not just in the office but out of it as well! We welcomed some new additions to our team with Omid joining us as a Sales Negotiator in Eastbourne and Shane joining our Hastings Branch as a Sales Manager. Shane brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the industry and Neil Newstead CEO of Oakfield Estate Agents expressed his delight at both Shane and Omid joining Oakfield he is very excited by what they will both bring to Oakfield.

We also welcomed a new Financial Advisor for to the team, Ian Dawson has joined us and will be covering the Hastings & Bexhill areas. If you are seeking financial advice Ian would welcome the opportunity to have a chat with you and discuss what he can offer. Please call our Hastings 01424 446644 or Bexhill branch 01424 224700 to make an appointment to meet with Ian.

As well as welcoming new additions to our team we said farewell, for now, to two of our team who are off on maternity leave. Rachel Harmer and Rebecca Green have both started their maternity leave, you will be greatly missed but we know you will thoroughly enjoy the well-deserved time off with your new babies.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Gemma, Glenn and Emma in our Property Management team in Hastings who have all passed Unit 1 of the Level 3 Technical Award in Residential Lettings and Property Management. Neil Newstead advised, "the studying all our team put in when preparing for these exams is something I am always very proud of. Best of luck for the remaining units guys".

Congratulations are also due to Katie Matthews our Senior Branch Administrator in Hastings who took part in an Eye to Eye walk this month to raise funds for Moorfields Eye Hospital. Following Katie’s mum sadly being diagnosed with cancer of the eye 3 years ago Katie wanted to give something back for all the support and treatment her mum had received. Katie and a friend walked from the London Eye to Moorfields in 3 and a half hours raising an amazing £722 for the hospital.

Katie also celebrated her second anniversary at Oakfield Estate Agents this month and Roxanne our Property Manager in Bexhill celebrated her third anniversary. Neil Newstead thanked both Katie and Roxanne for all their commitment over the years and for the hard work they put in to make Oakfield what it is. Neil Newstead also commented on the importance of marking these occasions as just one of the opportunities to thank staff for all they do. We hope to be celebrating your anniversaries for many more years to come.

Last but by no means least we had the pleasure of donating some Strawberry Plants and trowels to the lovely Children Pashley Down Infants school in Eastbourne. The school is seeking donations of strawberry plants for their new strawberry patch at their allotment, our Eastbourne branch will welcome any donations on the school's behalf. We look forward to seeing how well the strawberries grow.

So yes a very busy month and in our spare time, we sold and let some properties! I look forward to updating you on what I am sure will be an equally busy April but in the meantime, as always, if you have a property to sell or let, or you would like some property related advice please do not hesitate to contact one of the team, we look forward to hearing from you.
