Viewing Guidelines During Covid 19

All prospective buyers and tenants must use virtual viewings before visiting properties in person, in order to minimise public health risks. If any member of either the household being viewed, or the household undertaking a viewing is showing symptoms of coronavirus or is self-isolating, then a physical viewing must be delayed. All viewings should take place by appointment only and only involve members of a single household.

We encourage people to do their property searching online. Initial viewings should be done virtually wherever this is possible and physical viewings should only be conducted where buyers or tenants are seriously considering making an offer on a property.

To support this, Oakfield will endeavour to always have a video walk through off the property available and in addition may ask home occupiers to conduct virtual viewings. This will help reduce the number of properties people need to visit before finding their future home.

For lettings all tenants will be asked to complete a property passport prior to any physical viewing taking place, this is to establish the full suitability of the tenant for the property.

Viewings must be conducted by appointment only and will last no longer than 15 minutes and no open house viewings will take place.

If your property is being viewed, you must open all the internal doors prior to the viewing.

You must vacate your property whilst viewings are taking place in order to minimise your contact with those not in your household.

When viewing a property, all parties must wash their hands both prior and after the viewing so we would suggest that you have hand sanitizer available.  You need to avoid touching surfaces where possible.

Oakfield will not supply to use of any personal protective equipment to you such as gloves or masks, but have no objection to you wearing these.

Oakfield will ask you to restrict the number of people (maximum of 2 in total plus the agent) who accompany you on a viewing so that social distancing can be practised, and only those in your immediate household should be there.

Oakfield will continue to accompany clients on a viewing but follow social distancing rules at all times.   Where viewings are unaccompanied, we will of course make sure viewers and homeowners understand how they should conduct themselves.

If the property is vacant Oakfield will open up the property, open all doors and windows, wipe down handles before and after the viewing and remain outside whilst the viewing takes place.

Once the viewing has taken place, the homeowner should ensure surfaces, such as door handles, are cleaned with standard household cleaning products.
