About Bexhill-on-Sea

It was thanks to the 7th Earl De La Warr that Bexhill was transformed from its status as a rural hilltop village into the beautiful seaside town it is seen as today. Changes in British attitudes towards exercise begun to take place by the start of the 20th century and Bexhill became a popular choice for its decision to allow mixed bathing, marking the start of its life as a family seaside resort.

This took place during the Edwardian era and the architecture of the period can still be seen in many of the properties still standing today. These sit alongside the Victorian houses in the town which add real character to the area. Many have been converted into one or two bedroom apartments and flats, while larger 3 and 4 bedroom properties welcome in expanding families and those moving to the area for the very first time.

Over a thousand Bexhill new homes are being developed on land just off Wrestwood Road which will include a new community centre, primary school and retail space. A third of these will be affordable properties and it will add a total of £10m worth of investment into the area, while also improving nearby transport links and further enhancing Bexhill’s burgeoning reputation as a property hotspot.

Two bedroom apartment blocks from the 1930s and 50s provide traditional and reliable accommodation options. Anyone venturing into the Old Town will be instantly won over by the stunning Georgian property designs and the pretty cottages that make it so enticing to set up home there.
