However by being members of naea propertymark (national association of estate agents) our Clients have the peace of mind they are working with a professional agent who can give them up to date advice and guidance.

Tenancy Deposit Scheme – The Housing Act 2004 requires Landlords and Letting Agents to protect Tenant deposits on assured shorthold tenancies in a Government backed scheme. At Oakfield we use the TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme).

SAFEAgent is a mark denoting that Oakfield protect Landlord and Tenant monies through client money protection schemes. Whilst government changes will soon see this as a mandatory requirement for agents this is not yet the case.

How to claim & Information about the protection.

To make a claim, simply go to propertymark.co.uk/complaints/client-money-protection/ and complete the CMP application form.

Your money is protected throughout the time that your agency is a member of the Propertymark Client Money Protection Scheme. If your agent leaves a scheme, they are required by law to notify you. All agents managing properties in England, Scotland or Wales are legally required to belong to a Government approved Client Money Protection scheme at all times and details of the scheme must be publicly available. If you discover at a later date that money has gone missing during the period of their membership of the scheme, you will still be covered even if the have subsequently left the scheme.
