There are just a couple rules of thumb when it comes to renting or selling your property in and around the Hastings and Eastbourne Areas. It is important to make sure it looks as good as it can to attract the right applicant at the right price.
As a Landlord or Vendor it will be well worth your time reviewing the shortlist below ;
Tips on exterior appeal :
Repair any minor cosmetic flaws (such as peeling paint, cracked plaster or missing door knobs and handles).
Repair any cracks in the foundation, steps, paths, walls and patios.
Apply a fresh coat of paint to the front door.
Trim hedges, weed lawns and flowerbeds and prune back trees.
If you have a lawn keep it well cut and tidy.
Consider placing hanging baskets or plant pots by the front door (you can always take them with you when you move).
Tips for interior appeal :
If your property is in a flat within a block, do your best to make sure that the commonway is clear and looks presentable. First impressions count.
Clean all rooms and remove all clutter from kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms.
Rejuvenate any tired looking or brightly coloured walls with a fresh coat of white or neutral paint.
Repair any internal cracks or holes in plaster, tiles, wallpaper, window panes or mouldings.
Make sure all curtains are presentable and are drawn back.
Make sure that all carpets are well vacuumed and clean.
Inspect and repair any faulty plumbing, heating and alarm systems and repair any dripping taps and shower heads.
Window dressing is important and currently our tenants seem to favour blinds rather than curtains on rails or poles.
'it's common sense really, but making your property seem light, spacious and well-kept will attract potential applicants and help in closing a sale'
